Injustice 2 is set to release on for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.Created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff, the fan favorite DC Comics character Poison Ivy is headed back into the world of live action thanks to “ Batwoman” this month. That said, though, it's quite possible for the developer to save some of its biggest surprises for Injustice 2 as it gets closer to the game's reveal in May. As a matter of fact, the heroes have an eco-friendly fighter on their side in the form of Swamp Thing, who has entered into the fray to presumably protect the natural order of the world's plant life.īearing all of this in mind, there's no telling if NetherRealm Studios has any other character reveals planned for Injustice 2 before the title's launch, especially since the most recent spate of gameplay videos have been more focused on showing off the abilities of heroes and villains that have already been unveiled to the public. Interestingly enough, Poison Ivy isn't the only character in Injustice 2 whose move set relies on the vegetative world to give her strength and abilities against the DC Universe's wide range of characters. Since a lot of her abilities involve plants, it's a wonder as to whether or not the flowers and fauna supporting her will shift in color with each costume change, too. While Poison Ivy's move set in Injustice 2 definitely looks to be fearsome, it will be interesting to see how her skins are able to be altered throughout progression of the game with the title's gear system. Not to mention, her super move in Injustice 2 is quite a sight to behold, as it involves ensnaring opponents with a vine to throw them to be eaten by a giant plant monster akin to the one in Little Shop of Horrors. Although she has been showcased before along the likes of Catwoman, Cheetah, and Black Canary, this time around, Poison Ivy's botanically-rooted skills are on full display against a handful of DC's iconic characters.Īs seen below in the trailer for Poison Ivy, the villain is a potent force of nature to deal with in battle, for she seems to excel at almost every aspect of the game's combat system, by using long-to-mid range projectiles in the form of toxic blasts, quickly flurried chains of punches and kicks, fauna-based assists that add multipliers to combos, and close-range grapples that stun and incapacitate opponents. With less than a month to go before the release of the DC Comics-inspired fighting game, Injustice 2, NetherRealm Studios has decided to give fans a taste of the venomous move set of the Batman baddie Poison Ivy with a trailer all her own.
